Program: Rotary
Global Rotary Service & Fun
Since the 1990’s, individual Rotary clubs and Districts have been partnering with Well Child International (and its parent organization International Service Learning), providing “service and fellowship” opportunities. In Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Mexico, Rotarians (of all ages) have served in areas of health, education, and community development. These seven-to-nine-day programs/trips have included partnership time with in-country Rotarians and local programs sponsored by Well Child International. All teams are professionally planned, led, and operate on a nonprofit basis to include all land costs (exclusive of airfares). On occasion, Rotary travelers attend no host dinners. Michael Birnbaum, 40 plus year Rotarian and Founder/Director of Well Child International, is the program coordinator.
